Product Description

This book shows the parallels between Walt Disney's The Lion King in the African Savanna and the story of the gospel and the salvation of the human race as told in the Bible, and how they correlate with one another. As one reads, their own assertion can be made as what they see as the most important. While there is the tale of the "Lion King" in the jungle, there is the real "Lion King," called the Lion of the tribe of Judah, who has overcome the world on our behalf. All we need to do is follow and accept Him.

  1. Incredible writer

Simbarashe is an incredible writer. This book has long been overdue.

  2. Read it; you will be blessed

Posted by Pardon Mwansa, VP General Conference of SDAs on 11th Mar 2010

Anyone who gets a hold of "The Gospel in the Lion King" gets themselves a jewel.

Simbarashe (Simbrish) has taken scenes from a contemporary African tale and has ably merged the two to retell larger themes of an ancient story - the story of redemption.

  3. "Liion King" decoded

Posted by Ian Hartley, Pastor and Story Teller, Red Deer Alberta CANADA on 11th Mar 2010

Simbarashe Charumbira has decoded the movie “The Lion King” against the biblical story of the conflict between good and evil, between God and the devil.  The analogy is clear from his comparisons and watching the movie will be far more meaningful after reading this book.  The author is one of a growing number of writers who see in many apparently secular movies and books a serious attempt to communicate the story of God to secular people in tales that are set in language and scenes they find interesting.  Of course this is not new.  Story tellers, whether using voice or paper of movies, are always trying to communicate the essential truths of life and death.  The greatest story teller of all time, Jesus Christ, used stories or parables to leave timeless truth behind in images that are unforgettable.  You will enjoy reading this book and you will have a greater apprectiation for the love of God at the end of the story of the story.

  4. A Christian parallel study from the “Lion King.”

Posted by Joshua Maponga -- speaker, evangelist, musician and author on 11th Mar 2010

In the concrete jungles where the prophetic dragon is fighting the redemptive slain Lamb, victory belongs to the Lamb. God at His weakest overcomes the devil at his strongest.

The Lion of the tribe of Judah is the Simba of this book. A Christian parallel study from the “Lion King.” A must read.
