Laura Abate suffered with health anxiety for many years. It was because of her experience that she felt inclined to write Healing Health Anxiety, hoping that those who read it will find the tools they need to live a happy and fulfilling life. Abate received her BS in nursing from the University of Massachusetts in 1991. She now spends her time volunteering at a health clinic as well as a health educator and consultant. Her hobbies include dancing ballet and hiking with her husband and two Labrador retrievers. She lives in Santa Margarita, California.
