Product Description

When the Invitations Stopped was born from a desire to minister to people of faith and assist them in getting help for the issues of domestic violence and abuse. Churches/places of worship are not so willing to face these issues and tend to bury their heads in the sand with the thought that domestic violence and abuse happens to members of their congregations. Thus, members cannot get the support they need, and are often stigmatized and ostracized when what they are going through becomes known. This book makes the point that help is available even for people of faith, because no matter what their situation or status, God does not condemn. He is always there with an open invitation when all of the other social invitations have stopped coming. Secondly, survival is possible, self-esteem can be rebuilt, and success can be achieved through spiritual guidance and self-determination. While the target audience is religious or faith based, the book will benefit anyone in the throes of violence.

  1. A Spark of hope

Posted by DJ, Atlanta, GA on 4th Mar 2010

A guide that represents more than a spiritual encouragement for a woman enduring and coming out of a bad marriage or anyone making it through a bad relationship. "When the Invitations Stopped" represents the spark of hope that strengthens one faith to overcome the adversities of life.

  2. Recover Your self-worth

Posted by Don Skaggs, Retired, Ashland, TN on 4th Mar 2010

I highly recommend this book to anyone whether she has been abused or not. It is my belief that there are many women who are going through the same kind of abuse and this book may help them to break the cycle and recover their self-worth. It is a good read.

  3. A must read book for all women of faith

When the Invitations Stopped is a must read book for all women of faith considering a divorce, going through a divorce, or who have divorced. This courageous account will inspire and empower all who read it. For battered and abused women of faith, this story will help you feel less alone and better about yourself and will help guide you to the violence-free life that you deserve.
